Garden catalogues arrive throughout the winter with good ideas for spring designs.

Now is the time to start planning your gardens and ordering seeds.

Heavy snow and ice may crack tree/shrub limbs.  Prune off cracked limbs to prevent further damage to the bark.  Allow snow and ice to melt naturally, then you can gently support the limb but do not force back into original position or further damage could happen.

Trees such as Apples and Pears should be pruned (Feb) removing all water sprouts that grow from the root and around the base of the tree.  Prune limbs that are shaded by larger ones and any branches that are rubbing.
